Searching is free. Exporting is what costs credits.
The single rule that explains most of the pricing: you can search, filter and count as often as you like for nothing. Only the export deducts credits.
There is one rule that makes the rest of the product make sense:
Searching, filtering and counting are free and unlimited. A credit is spent only when a row is written into an export file.
What that means in practice
- Refine a search twenty times. Costs nothing.
- Check how many dentists there are in every city in Norway, one by one. Costs nothing.
- Scroll through 500 pages of masked results. Costs nothing.
- Export 638 rows. Costs 638 credits — once.
Why we can afford to do it this way
Nothing is scraped while you wait. The businesses already sit in our index, kept fresh on a schedule, so a search is a database query rather than a crawl. A query costs us almost nothing, which is why we do not have to charge you for one. It is also why a city-sized search returns in about a second.
The number you should trust
The count above the results is the real number of matching businesses, not the number on the current page and not a rounded estimate. That is what makes it safe to use as a budgeting tool: if it says 1,240 and you export all of them, you will be charged 1,240 credits. (Above 100,000 rows we switch to an estimate and label it as one.)
Build the search, then decide
The right habit is: get the count to a number you are happy to pay for, then export. Not: export, look at the file, and try again.
The two things people get charged for unexpectedly
Select all matching. Ticking the header checkbox selects the 50 rows on screen. There is a second, separate control that selects all 1,240. They look similar and cost very differently — read this before you use either.
Re-running a search in a new month. A business is billed once per rolling 30 days. Export the same list in week 1 and week 2 and you pay once; export it in January and again in March and you pay twice.
The detail lives in how lead credits work, and the plan numbers are on the pricing page.
