Do I have to cancel my free trial?
No. There is no card and no auto-conversion, so there is nothing to cancel — the trial ends itself on day 15. What that day looks like, and how to close the account if you want that too.
Short answer: no. There is nothing to cancel.
Cancelling only exists where something would otherwise continue. The trial takes no credit card, so nothing can be charged, and it does not convert into a paid plan. Walking away and cancelling are the same act here, and the second one is not available because it would have nothing to do.
What you will not get
No reminder email warning you that a charge is coming, because none is. No cancellation deadline. No retention screen. If you have used a trial that needed all three, the absence is the point rather than an oversight.
What actually happens on day 15
The trial expires on its own. Search and filtering keep working, new exports stop, and the app asks you to choose a plan if you want to carry on. Nothing is billed and no plan starts until you pick one yourself. The full breakdown is in what happens when the trial ends.
Everything you exported is still yours
Nothing is clawed back when the trial ends. Files you downloaded are files on your own computer, and the rows in them are yours to use permanently, subject to acceptable use.
If you have already chosen a plan
Then you have a subscription rather than a trial, and that one does renew. Cancelling it is a button in the same place — how to cancel your subscription — and it takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you want the account closed
That is a real action and it is separate from the trial. Two ways:
- In the app — Account → Profile → Close account. You will be asked to confirm by typing your email address, because it cannot be undone.
- By email — write to
support@findandclose.comfrom the address on the account.
Closing the account deletes your exports
Export history, saved searches and any file still waiting for download are removed with the account. Download anything you want to keep first — files already on your own computer are unaffected.
Erasure of your personal data
Closing the account removes your account record. If you also want the underlying personal data we hold about you erased under GDPR Article 17, say so explicitly in the request and we will confirm when it is done. That is a different thing from a removal request about a business record in the index.
If you just want a pause
Do nothing. An expired trial costs nothing and holds nothing against you; the account sits there with your saved searches and your export history until you either choose a plan or ask us to remove it. Coming back in three months and subscribing works fine — though the 100 free credits only come round once.
