Gym email list
Half the gym trade cannot say yes to you, because head office owns the decision. The first job is telling the two halves apart. The second is timing.
Covers Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland417 Swedish and 340 Norwegian gyms on fileEmail on 46% of rows in both countries
Chain badge or owner on the floor
Two businesses share the word gym. They buy nothing the same way.
A franchise or chain site has a manager, and the manager runs the rota, the cleaning and the complaints. Head office buys the stack: equipment, software, supplements, marketing. That buyer will never see an email you send to the site.
An independent gym is the other animal. The owner is on the floor, often coaching, and the same person signs off everything the gym buys. There is no procurement, no committee, and no review cycle to wait out.
- Pitch a franchise site with a central offer, and the best case is “you would have to ask head office”.
- Pitch an independent, and the decision can happen the same week.
- Site-level offers still work on chains: cleaning, repairs, local events, staff hiring.
- Everything else belongs at HQ — and a Maps row is a location, not an HQ contact.
Telling them apart in the export is mechanical. Sort by name. A brand that repeats across ten towns is a chain — every one of those rows shares one buyer. A name that appears once is a bet on a single owner.
Coverage, said early: our rows cover Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland, from our own live crawl. Selling to gyms in the US or beyond? A global scraper like Outscraper serves that better — the comparison is on the site. Need chain head offices rather than locations? That is a company-database job, not a Maps job. See the Apollo comparison.
- Pick the trade Type it and take the match. One trade or twenty, on every plan.
- Pick the place Country, region, municipality, city. No plan gates the geography.
- The count moves first The number updates before you spend anything. Looking is free.
- Filter to the ones worth calling Has email, has phone, has a website, has a contact page. Combine them freely.
- Contacts are masked until export You can see a row exists and judge it. The address itself is the product.
- Export what you are looking at The file is exactly this filter set, with nothing dropped in between.
The year has one hinge, and it is January
No trade we track runs on a harder season. The resolutions arrive in week one, and everything before that is preparation.
January floods every gym with new sign-ups. The staff spend the month onboarding, the floor is full, and nobody has an hour for a vendor. Selling to a gym in January is like selling to an accountant at a tax deadline.
The buying happens earlier. Autumn is when a gym fixes what January will expose. Tired equipment. A booking page that fails on phones. No plan for the wave of trials that will churn by March.
- September to November: the window. Pitch anything that makes January better.
- December: late, but rush jobs still land if you can deliver fast.
- January: serve, do not sell. Staff are underwater with new members.
- Summer: quiet floors and quiet inboxes. Fine for relationships, poor for closes.
Time the sequence to that calendar and the same message performs like a different one. The mechanics of the message itself are in the cold email guide.
What the file says: gyms flip the local pattern
Most local trades are phone-rich and email-poor. Gyms are the mirror image. Counted 26 July 2026.
Sweden holds 417 gyms in our file. 190 carry an email — 46%. Only 40 have no website, which is 10% of the trade. 82% have claimed their listing.
Norway holds 340 gyms. 158 carry an email — also 46%. 57 have no website, 17%. 75% have claimed their listing.
Now the twist. Only 63% of Swedish gyms and 54% of Norwegian gyms list a phone number. Compare that to Norwegian dentists at 94%. For most trades the phone is the safe fallback. For gyms it is the thin channel.
What that means for your campaign
Our reading: plenty of gyms run long unstaffed or app-entry hours, and a desk phone nobody staffs is a phone nobody lists. Whatever the cause, the count is the count.
So plan gyms as an email-first trade. The coverage is there — 46% in both countries — and the fallback phone leg is weaker than you are used to.
The social fields agree: in Sweden, 236 of the 417 rows carry a Facebook page and 236 carry an Instagram. Gyms live where their members scroll. Your export includes those columns; use them for research and warm-up, in your own tools.
Finland and Denmark, honestly
Finland holds 184 gym rows, 26% with email — under our 300-record floor, so no Finnish page yet. Denmark is not in the tracked gym count at all yet.
Both remain searchable in the app as the crawl deepens. We publish pages where the file is deep, and say so where it is not.
The country pages carry samples and regional splits: gyms in Norway and gyms in Sweden.
A cadence timed to the sign-up season
Written for an autumn pitch of a January-facing service to independent gyms. Swap the offer; keep the calendar. Run it from your own sending tool — we only build the list.

Subject before the January wave hits [gym name]
Hi. I found [gym name] on Maps — [one detail you checked, like their reviews or their booking page].
I help independent gyms with [your offer in one plain line], set up before the January rush, not during it.
Want to see what it looks like? If not, reply stop and I will not write again.
January is the one deadline every gym owner already believes in. Anchoring to it does the urgency work without a fake discount timer.
-
Call mid-morning on a weekday, after the early crowd clears and before lunch classes. At an independent, the person on the desk is often the owner.
Open with the season, not the product: “are you set up for January yet?” Every owner has an answer, and the answer is the conversation.
If the row shows no phone — and for gyms many do not — skip this step and send the day-6 email instead.
The seasonal question is one every owner is already chewing on in autumn. You are not interrupting; you are early to a worry they own.
-
Subject what it costs, in one screen
The whole offer in one place, price included: [link].
Gyms I have done this for: [names or link]. Setup finishes before December.
If it is a no, reply stop and I will close the file.
An owner-operator decides fast when you hide nothing. A dated delivery promise — done before December — turns a maybe into a diary decision.
-
Subject closing your file before the rush
I will close your file now so we both get on with the season.
If January exposes the gap, my details are below. Good luck with the wave.
The breakup lands harder with a season behind it. If January hurts, this is the email they dig out — so it must end warm and end clean.
- It exports the whole result Every row the filter matched, not the page you happen to be looking at.
- CSV or XLSX Tab-separated UTF-8, or typed Excel columns. One file per job.
- 34 groups, 64 columns The same 64 on every plan. Nothing is held back for a higher tier.
- Three presets Contact only, full record, or the outreach set. Or tick your own.
- The cost, before you commit One credit per place, once per 30 days. Re-downloading is free.
Questions about gym lists
How do I split chains from independents in the export?
Sort the file by business name. A brand repeating across towns is a chain, and all its rows share one head-office buyer. A name that appears once is an independent.
Ten minutes of sorting saves a campaign. Site-level offers can keep the chain rows; everything else should go to the independents.
Why do so few gyms list a phone number?
The counts are 54% in Norway and 63% in Sweden, low against trades like dentists at 94%. Our reading is unstaffed hours: a desk nobody sits at is a phone nobody lists.
Whatever the cause, plan email-first. Gym email coverage is 46% in both countries, which is strong for a local trade.
When should I pitch a gym?
September to November, for anything that makes January better. December works for fast rush jobs. January itself is for serving, not selling.
Summer is the quiet stretch — fine for relationship building, weak for closing.
Do you cover Danish or Finnish gyms?
Finland holds 184 rows, under our 300-record page floor, so it has no country page yet. Denmark is not in the tracked gym count at all so far.
Norway and Sweden carry full pages. Our coverage is the four Nordic countries and nothing beyond — for global lists, use a global scraper.
Is the gym manager the buyer?
At an independent, the owner is the buyer, and the owner is often the person on the desk. At a chain site, the manager buys site-level services and little else.
Match the offer to the row. A Maps listing is a location, not a head office, and pretending otherwise wastes the send.
Can I reach gyms on Instagram instead?
The export shows which rows carry Instagram and Facebook links — in Sweden that is 236 of 417 rows each. Gyms are a social-heavy trade.
What you do with those links happens in your own tools. We do not send messages on any channel; we hand you the file.
