Auto repair shop email list: selling to garages

Almost nobody who buys a garage list runs a garage. Parts suppliers, tool vendors, software firms and fleet owners do. This page is for them, and it covers the Nordics only.

Norway, Sweden, Denmark and FinlandNo invented counts — we say what we lackA cadence tuned to workshop hours

The buyer of a garage list sells TO garages

A garage is a business that other businesses feed. That is what makes the list valuable, and it shapes every pitch.

Coverage first, because it decides whether to keep reading. FindAndClose holds local business data for Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. The file runs to 44,684 records. Selling into the Nordics, you are in the right place. Need US or global garage lists? Outscraper does global one-off pulls; we do not.

Now the trade. A workshop never stops buying: parts every day, tyres by season, tools and lifts on cycles, chemicals and consumables on standing orders. Each of those suppliers wants a territory list of workshops.

  • Parts and tyre distributors, opening trade accounts shop by shop.
  • Tool and equipment vendors, selling on cycles and demos.
  • Workshop software: booking, invoicing, job cards. The garage that still runs on a paper diary is the classic pitch.
  • Fleet operators, hunting a service partner near each depot.
  • Lubricant and consumables brands, defending shelf space shop by shop.

Notice what all five have in common. None of them is selling the garage a customer. They are selling it supply, time or steady work. That framing survives contact with a busy owner. "Marketing" seldom does.

When a garage answers, and when it cannot

The person who answers the phone is the person billing hours. Every minute you take is a minute off a job.

The morning is drop-off. Customers queue, keys change hands, the day takes shape. The middle of the day is heads-down wrench time. The person you want is under a car, and the phone rings out or gets a distracted yes that means nothing.

Email fits this trade better than people expect, for one reason: it waits. The owner reads it at the counter between jobs, or at close after they bill the day. A short email wins its five seconds — after hours, not at 10am.

Write for the counter, not the desk. One problem, one number, one question. The owner is reading on a phone with dirty hands, deciding in five seconds whether you smell like a supplier or a time-waster.

Bigger workshops and chains have an office, and the office reads email like any office. The one-bay independent does not. Plan for both halves: email opens the door, the phone closes it, and the phone call belongs in the slack parts of the day.

Fleet work cuts both ways

A garage wants fleet contracts for the same reason you want the garage: steady, scheduled, weekday work.

A fleet contract fills the quiet middle of a garage’s week. Vans go in on a schedule, not on a breakdown, so the owner can plan the work and the invoices repeat. Every workshop owner knows this, and most want more of it.

That gives a fleet operator real leverage in the pitch: you are not asking a garage for a favour, you are offering it the best kind of revenue it knows.

And it means this page has a second reader. If you RUN a garage and want fleet clients, the lists on this site are your prospect file. Plumbers, electricians, carpenters and cleaning firms run vans — often several. Our Norwegian plumber list alone holds 605 firms, most of them with vehicles that need service somewhere.

Two sides, one dataset. The full list of trades shows every van-heavy trade we publish, by country.

Where our garage data stands — the honest version

We track 81 trade-and-country combinations for the pages on this site. Auto repair is not one of them yet, and we will not print a guess.

So this page carries no live garage count, and that is deliberate. Every number we publish comes out of our own database with a date beside it. We hold no counted auto repair file today, so there is no number here.

Two things are still true and worth knowing.

  • The app searches every category on every plan — over 4,000 of them, auto repair included. You can pull Nordic workshops today; we just have not counted them onto a page yet.
  • The nearest motor trade we DO count is driving schools. Norway holds 337 driving schools, 180 of them with an email on file. Schools run small fleets hard, and every one of them has a garage — or needs one.

For scale, here is the shape of email coverage across the trades we do track.

  • Norway: 38% of our rows carry an email.
  • Sweden: 19% carry one.
  • Denmark: 17%.
  • Finland: 16%.

We will not claim garages match those rates. We publish garage numbers when we have counted garages.

A cadence tuned to workshop hours

Built around drop-off rush, wrench time and the counter hour at close. You run it in your own tool — we do not send anything.

  1. 1 Day 1 Email

Subject [Part or problem] for [their shop name]

Hi — supplier email, so I will be quick.

I handle [your product] for workshops around [their area]. The short version: [one concrete term — price, delivery time, or trial].

Reply yes for the details, or stop and I will not write again.

Send it to land late afternoon, after the last pick-up, when the counter is quiet. A morning email dies in the drop-off rush.

  2. 2 Day 3 Phone

Call between 1pm and 3pm — after the morning queue, before pick-up starts.

Open with the trade, not the pitch: "Are you mid-job? I can call back." Then one sentence on the offer.

Asking "are you mid-job" is not politeness. It tells the owner you know how a workshop day runs, which is the whole first impression.

  3. 3 Day 8 Email

Subject The terms, in three lines

As promised, the whole offer: [product], [price or discount structure], [delivery or onboarding time].

If you have a supplier you are happy with, tell me and I will stop. If the terms beat theirs, the switch costs you [the true switch cost].

Every garage already has a supplier for everything. Naming the switch cost shows you know that, and it filters real interest from noise.

  4. 4 Day 15 Email

Subject Closing the file on [their shop name]

Last one from me. I will assume the current setup works and close the file.

If a supplier lets you down some Tuesday, the terms in my last email stand.

Supplier switches in this trade happen on failure days. The polite exit is what the owner remembers when one arrives.

  1. It exports the whole result Every row the filter matched, not the page you happen to be looking at.
  2. CSV or XLSX Tab-separated UTF-8, or typed Excel columns. One file per job.
  3. 34 groups, 64 columns The same 64 on every plan. Nothing is held back for a higher tier.
  4. Three presets Contact only, full record, or the outreach set. Or tick your own.
  5. The cost, before you commit One credit per place, once per 30 days. Re-downloading is free.

What garage-list buyers ask us

Do you publish a counted auto repair shop list?

Not yet. The pages on this site cover 81 trade-and-country combinations, and auto repair is not among them, so we have no counted garage file to show you.

The app itself searches every category — over 4,000, garages included — in all four countries, on every plan. The page ships when the counted file does.

Which countries can I pull workshops for?

Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. That is the whole answer — we are a Nordic database and we say so on every page.

For the US or the rest of the world, Outscraper handles global one-off pulls. Our comparison is straight about where it wins.

I run a garage. Can I use this to find fleet clients?

Yes, and it may be the better use of the database. We count and publish the van trades today: plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners. Each list filters by region.

Start from the full trade list, pick your country, and filter to your service radius. Every row is a firm whose vehicles need a workshop somewhere.

When is the best time to contact a workshop?

Not mid-morning. Drop-off fills the first hours, and the middle of the day is wrench time.

Email lands best late afternoon, once the day is closed out. Calls land best in the early-afternoon lull. None of this is a statistic — it is how a workshop day runs.

Is there any motor trade you do count today?

Driving schools. Norway holds 337 of them in our file, 180 with an email — strong coverage for a local trade.

They are a useful neighbour list for motor-trade sellers: small fleets, hard use, and a real need for a reliable workshop.
