Heating contractor email list: the heat-pump trade in a cold country

In the Nordics heating is not a comfort trade. It is the trade that keeps a house alive through winter. That fact sets the demand, the timing and the tone of every message you send.

Coverage first, and the trade behind the word

Say the scope before anyone buys, and name what we do not track.

FindAndClose sells local business lists built from Google Maps. We cover four countries: Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

If you sell into the Nordics, this is live data from our own crawl. If you need a US or global heating list, we are the wrong shop. A worldwide scraper fits that job. Our Outscraper review says where they win and where they charge for it.

One honest line up front. We do not track a heating contractor category yet, so this page carries no live count. We would rather say that than invent a number.

The trade also hides behind its local name. Across Scandinavia it lists as VVS, and in Finland as LVI. Many firms carry plumbing and heating under one roof, which is why our HVAC page treats them as one market.

Why the heat pump owns this trade

One product reshaped Nordic heating, and it changed who the contractor is.

Winters here are long and cold. Electricity from hydro power is cheap. So the heat pump has become the standard way to heat a Nordic home.

That shift matters for you. The heating contractor is now half electrician, half plumber. A heat pump needs a certified electrical connection, so many jobs pull in a licensed sparky too.

  • The install is a planned upgrade, not a repair. The homeowner chooses it and books it ahead.
  • The unit is a branded box. Heat-pump makers court the installers who fit their kit.
  • A certified electrician signs off the power side. One job, two trades.
  • Rebates and grants push demand in waves, and the waves land in the shoulder seasons.

So the buyer of a heating list is often a heat-pump brand, a wholesaler, or a firm chasing install partners. The electrician file is the neighbour to read next, because the two trades meet on every heat-pump job.

Winter is the deadline nobody argues with

Heating demand does not grow. It swings hard with the thermometer, and the swing sets your calendar.

The first hard frost fills every heating firm at once. Old systems that limped through summer fail together. The diary jams for weeks, and nobody in that office reads a sales note.

The buying decision happens earlier. A homeowner plans a heat-pump swap in the calm months and fits it before the cold. Autumn grants nudge that plan along.

For a seller, the lesson is timing, not volume.

  • Pitch in the shoulder season, when the owner has time to think.
  • Go quiet in the cold snap. A message sent then dies unread.
  • Grant windows in autumn are when big installs get signed.
  • The domestic side runs on the phone and the van. The commercial side keeps an office and reads email.

The domestic half of this trade behaves like plumbing: call-outs, a van, a phone that rings at the worst hour. The commercial half keeps regular hours. The review text often tells you which is which.

What we can count, and what we cannot

No heating row exists in our tracked file, so here is the ground the trade stands on instead.

We publish live counts only where our own file backs them. There is no heating category in that file today, and we will not dress a guess as one.

What we can show you is the shape of our Nordic data.

  • Our four countries hold 44,684 local business records in total.
  • Email coverage across our tracked trades: Norway 38%, Sweden 19%, Denmark 17%, Finland 16%.
  • Phone coverage runs well ahead of email in every trade we track.

The nearest weather-driven trade we do count is roofing. Our Swedish roofing file holds 305 firms, and 84 carry an email — 28% of the file. A heating file will not match it row for row, but the pattern rhymes: seasonal work, a phone-first core, a written minority.

You do not have to wait for us to track heating, either. The app searches Maps categories beyond our page set, VVS and heating included. Pick the category and the count shows before you export a thing.

A pre-winter cadence for a heat-pump supplier

Written for someone selling heat-pump units, spares or stock to heating contractors. Aim for the calm before the season. Run it in your own tool — we build lists and send nothing.

  1. 1 Late summer Phone

Call at 07:10, before the van leaves the yard. A heating fitter answers early or not at all.

One question: which heat-pump brands do you fit most this year?

Whatever they say, ask if you can email your trade prices for the winter. Now the email is expected.

The domestic side of this trade lives on the phone. The early call turns a cold email into a promised one, and a promised email gets opened.

  2. 2 Same day Email

Subject winter trade prices, as promised

Hi [name] — good to talk this morning. The winter price list is below, as promised.

The two lines worth checking first are [unit] and [spare], against what you pay now.

If it is not for you, reply stop and that is the end of it.

The subject marks the message as the one they agreed to receive. That is the opposite of cold, and it clears the season before the rush starts.

  3. 3 Early autumn Email

Subject stock before the first frost

Following up once. The first cold week always empties our fast-moving lines.

If you want a standing order held for you, I will ring-fence the units now.

Reply with a yes, or a stop, and either way I have my answer.

Stock-outs in the cold snap cost a fitter real jobs. Naming that risk in autumn is the one pitch they cannot wave away.

  4. 4 Deep winter Email

    Subject last one until spring

I know your week is brutal right now, so this is the last note until the season eases.

If a delivery lets you down midwinter, my direct number is below. Good luck out there.

Suppliers get switched on a bad week, not on a good pitch. The breakup leaves your number where they will look when that week comes.

Straight answers about heating contractor lists

Why is there no live count on this page?

Because heating is not one of our tracked categories yet. Every count we publish comes from our own file, dated, and we do not pad the gaps.

The nearest counted neighbour is Swedish roofing, at 305 records. When a heating count lands in the tracked set, this page gets it.

Which Maps categories should I search for this trade?

Start with the heating category. Add plumbing-and-heating, because many firms carry both under one roof. The local names to know are VVS in Scandinavia and LVI in Finland.

Inside the app you pick from a list, so you cannot misspell your way past the market. The count updates as you pick.

When is the best time to reach a heating firm?

Late summer and early autumn, before the season starts. That is when the owner can hear you and grants are being claimed.

The worst time is the first hard frost. Every old system fails at once, and your message dies in a jammed inbox.

Do heat-pump installs pull in an electrician too?

Yes. A heat pump needs a certified electrical connection, so many jobs bring in a licensed electrician alongside the heating firm.

If your offer touches the power side, cross-check our electrician file. The two trades meet on the same job.

Heating, HVAC or plumber — which page do I want?

They overlap. HVAC is the American word for the same Nordic trade, and our HVAC page covers the naming in full.

If your buyer is a call-out repair firm, the plumber page is the closer match. Many Nordic firms are all three at once.
