RocketReach · compared

RocketReach looks up a person. We hand you the whole town.

RocketReach says it covers 700 million professionals, and for named people it is a serious tool. But a lookup starts from a name. Nobody looks up a plumber by name.

What RocketReach is genuinely built for

RocketReach is a people-search engine. Give it a person or a company and it returns emails, phones and social profiles.

Their own site puts the scale plainly: email, phone and social media for more than 700 million professionals. That is a people index, and a very large one.

The workflow is the lookup. You search a name, a title or a company. You spend a lookup. You get the contact details back, with a browser extension to do it from any page.

They also ship more than data. Every paid plan can send up to 500 emails a day from inside the tool. We send nothing at all, so mark that as their win before we go further.

How the lookups are priced

RocketReach renders its prices from its own product feed, and that is what we read on 27 July 2026. The monthly plans:

  • Essentials — $49 a month for 100 lookups, emails only
  • Pro — $99 a month for 250 lookups, with phone numbers
  • Ultimate — $209 a month for 1,000 lookups, plus technographics and org charts

Pay for a year and the labels change. Essentials is $329 a year with unlimited email lookups. Pro is $829. Ultimate is $1,699, with phone lookups unlimited too.

Unused lookups roll over on the monthly plans, for up to 12 months. Their FAQ says yearly plans do not roll over.

Read the yearly plans twice. Lookups are unlimited, but exports are capped: 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 rows a year by tier. You can look at more than you can take away. For a list builder, the export cap is the real meter.

A lookup needs a name

The whole model prices the moment you ask about someone. That fits a world where you know who you want and need a route in.

Local prospecting is the other way round. You do not know the plumber's name. You want every plumber in the region, and the name is on the row when it arrives.

A people index cannot start there, and a lookup price makes no sense there either. Two hundred firms would cost two hundred lookups before the first call.

Our $49 plan carries 10,000 lead credits, and one search returns the whole trade in one pull. Different job, different meter.

Grouped by what each index holds, cover of local firms, contact fields, how the meter runs, who owns the export, and sending. Grey rows are the ones RocketReach wins.

The coverage test — price one town both ways

Do not argue about models. Price one real job through each meter and look at the two numbers.

  1. Pick one trade and one town. Electricians in Aarhus. Dentists in Uppsala. A list you would call this month.
  2. Count the pins on Google Maps. Say the town holds 250 firms. Write that number down.
  3. Price it as lookups. On the $49 plan, 100 lookups a month. That town is two and a half months of allowance, if the firms are in the index at all.
  4. Check whether they are in the index. Search five small firms from the map by name. Count how many come back with the shop's own details.
  5. Price it here. One search, one export, inside the 10,000 credits on the $49 plan.

For named executives, that maths flips hard the other way, and RocketReach wins it. We hold no people index and never claimed one.

For a trade in a town, run the test. The trial gives you 14 days and 100 leads with no card, which is enough to check us the same way.

When to run both

A people index and a place index answer different questions. Some teams need both answers.

Keep RocketReach when the person is the target. A named founder, a hiring manager, a journalist. That is what a 700-million-profile index is for.

Use us when the business is the target and the person is whoever picks up. That is the whole of local trade outreach.

  • Finding a named CTO's email — RocketReach
  • Every roofer in a region before Friday — us
  • A candidate's contact details for a recruiter — RocketReach
  • Every café in Helsinki with under four stars — us
  • Any list where the shop line is the right number — us

If you keep both, mind the meters. Their yearly plans cap exports by tier, so big local pulls burn the cap fast. Do the volume work here and save the lookups for people.

And on sending: RocketReach can send 500 emails a day from the tool. We send nothing. Our file goes into whatever sender you already run.

What people ask before they switch

Should I cancel RocketReach?

If you look up named people every week, no. We hold no people index, so we cannot replace that.

If you bought it to build local lists and the export cap keeps biting, that is the case for moving the local work here.

What does RocketReach cost?

On the day we checked: $49, $99 or $209 a month for 100, 250 or 1,000 lookups. Yearly, $329, $829 or $1,699 with unlimited lookups.

The yearly plans cap exports at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 rows a year. Check their site for the current numbers before you buy.

What does their "unlimited" mean?

On yearly plans, lookups are unlimited but exports are not. You can view more contacts than you can pull out as a file.

If your job ends in a CSV, the export cap is the number to compare. Ours has no export cap on any plan.

Do you send email like they do?

No. RocketReach can send up to 500 emails a day from inside the tool. No mail leaves our servers on your behalf.

You export a file and send from your own tool. If built-in sending is why you would buy, buy them, not us.

Do you have data on people?

No. We hold businesses: name, address, phone, email, website, rating and 58 more columns per row.

For a two-van firm, the business is the decision maker. For a named executive, buy a people index.

What do I get for $49 a month?

Starter gives 10,000 lead credits, one seat, and CSV or XLSX exports with all 64 columns on every row.

Every country, every filter and all 4,000+ categories sit on that plan. See what each plan holds.
